The present-day objective view of Germany, as it appears on a map, differs greatly from the actual variety of cultures and traditions which the recently unified country represents. It is impossible to conceive the full history of Germany and its glassworks without taking into account the various conflicts and changes that took place and naturally left a mark on everyone involved. This article takes an example of the survival of one company, based in Lauscha, E Germany, through both world wars and the unification of East and West Germany.
