Georgia Kaolin Belt Reviewed

The USA is the world's largest producer of kaolin, accounting for about one third of total world output. The vast majority of this output is sourced from the famous kaolin mining districts of south-east USA - collectively referred to as the Georgia kaolin belt. The belt runs about 50km wide and 400 km long through Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Last year the belt produced over 7.8m tons accounting for $981m. out of the 8.9m tons of total US kaolin production. This article review the market outlook for the belt's kaolin with an update on producers' activities.
