Gathering Shards After The Revolution

The revolution in 1989 gave Romania's glass industry a hard blow, drastically reducing production and, consequently, import and export. The country has availed itself of its long glassmaking tradition and skilled labourers to bring its industry to gradually improving levels of production. In this article the Director of Romania's National Institute of Glass is interviewed, taking a close look at the country's glass production. Numbers are growing slowly but surely and the outlook for the future looks good.
