Future Of Mirror Paints

Some important steps have been carried out over many years to improve the quality of mirrors, not only from a paint point of view, but also in the chemical process involved in the production of mirrors (Cu-free process). These new processes allowed the development of paint systems with a low, or even zero lead content maintaining or even improving the overall properties of the mirror. This was a good step, making the products more environmentally friendly. New developments are mainly based on further reducing VOC and avoiding dangerous materials (such as formaldehyde etc). This article provides an overview of what is on the market, and new developments ready to be introduced.
