One of three important events to be organised by the Society of Glass Technology's Melting Technical Committee this year, the 11th Furnace Solutions 2016 meeting takes place at Stoke on Trent on 9 June. The day previous, the fourth in a series of annual training days takes place at the same venue. And, on 8 September a special Centenary Furnace Solutions will be held at Sheffield University to mark the Society of Glass Technology's 100th year. According to current Chair of Melting Technical Committee Neil Simpson, a strong line up of speakers has been arranged both days in Stoke this June. With impending implementation of BREF environmental regulations, the committee approached several previous Training Day attendees before deciding on "Energy and the Environment" as the main topic for discussion. Speakers include those from the Energy Institute, Alpha Management Solutions, GlasRef Consulting, Glass Technology Services, MKD23 and Simpson Combustion & Energy.
