Fundamentals Of Controlled Formation Of Glass Ceramics

The aim of controlled nucleation and crystallisation within the process of glass ceramic formation is to develop materials containing a uniform glassy-crystalline microstructure. These materials have special volume, surface and interface properties. Three principles of a controlled microstructure formation of glass ceramics are demonstrated in this article.
