The increasing demand for glass and the continuous need for more specific glass types are causing today's glassmakers to look for more and more functional applications for coatings. The same can be said for the technology and methods used to apply these coatings, which range from high volume, in-line flat substrate coaters, chemical vapour deposition, large high speed web-coaters used for plastic and polymeric foils and wet-chemical routes.
