The Fracture Of Soda-Lime Glass

An identification technique was used as a means of evaluating the fracture toughness of a soda-lime glass. The specimens were indented using a conventional Vickers hardness testing machine. Toughness values, Kic values were calculated in terms of indentation parameters 2a and 2c, using, the Liang formula. A comparison was made between these values and others obtained from three and four point bending experiments.
