Fractography Of Glasses - A Necesary Tool For Fracture Characterization

Examples of applications have shown that fractography is not only a valuable tool, but a necessary tool when investigating issues of glass strength and failure, whether in the laboratory, in the manufacturing plant,or in service. This article focuses on several applications for fractography. For more understanding of the markings found on glass fracture surfaces and the techniques of fractography, references are listed in the bibliography.
