[Forming] Uk Collaboration Results In Mould Coating Technology

As a result of several years collaboration, "Protec" was developed through a partnership between UK-based firms Castolin Eutectic and Provac. Towards the end of 2008, Castolin Eutectic acquired Provac, enabling the two companies to maximise the product's exposure to the worldwide glass industry. Protec is a vacuum fused coating developed to coat cast iron glass container mould parts and increase their durability. Surface hardness is usually in excess of HRC40 and the increase in life can be at least three times that of the cast iron part, according to Castolin.
