Fluoroindate Glasses For Active And Passive Fibres

Fluoroindate glasses have been studied for more than 10 years. They are now emerging as a promising group of fluoride glasses for fibres operating around 5 micrometers and also for laser fibres and optical amplification. Recent achievements include numerous multicomponent glass forming systems based on InF3, MF2 (M= Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Cd, Pb), M'F3 (M'= Ga, Y, La, Gd). Partial vitreous areas are displayed and the main physical and optical properties reported.
