Flow In A Glass Melting Tank

The basis of the author's hypothesis is that movement within a glass bath should be regarded as the flow of heavy, reactive materials in layers and tat all movements known to occur with this type of flow in hydrodynamics can also occur in molten glass. There are three main types of flow in a glass tank - that caused by a temperature field, reaction of flow occurring in different part so hate tank is considered, both individually and as an overall flow pattern under the assumption that all the movements investigated can occur simultaneously. Diagrams showing the flow are given and the use of meteorological symbols to show temperature distribution and the different glass masses is suggested.
