Flotation Facts

Flotation is the process whereby air is introduced into a slurry of mineral ore, water and chemicals in such a way that it forms bubbles. In principle, either the mineral or waste products adhere to the bubble and can then be removed. However, the process is not that simple as minerals need to be selectively removed with the bubbles. This is where flotation reagents are important. This article explains the principals behind the process.
