Float Process For Manufacture Of Float Glass Ribbon.

Described is the production of float glass of less than equilibrium thickness. Jets of molten metal are directed against both side edges of the glass ribbon from nozzles below the ribbon and in the molten metal bath. Where the jets are directed out wards, a lateral contracting force is impaired to the ribbon if the jets are directed inwards.
