Float Glass In The Middle East

The Guardian Industries Group has over 19,000 employees in 21 countries on 5 continents and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of float glass and fabricated glass products, with 24 float lines around the world and over 24 other manufacturing plants, including sites for glass fabrication, fibreglass insulation and automotive products. In 1995 Guardian Industries entered into a JV with National Company for Glass Industries (known as Zoujaj) and the Al Zamil Group to create the Saudi Guardian International Float Glass Company (GulfGuard), a Saudi limited liability company. The following year GulfGuard built a float glass plant in Saudi Arabia, Guardian's first venture into the Middle East. In 2006, the decision was made to build another site and work began on the construction of Guardian RAK, a new float glass facility to be located in Ras Al Kaimah, UAE.
