Float Glass Manufacture

The bath lining is formed of graphite for most of the length of the bath. The lining is interrupted by a transverse section of ceramic refractory to retard heat transfer longitudinally of the lining in a zone where a relatively rapid thermal drop is required lengthwise of the ribbon.
