The CerCat process was developed to help customers respect ever stricter pollutant emissions regulations fur dust, acid gases and NOx. Based on ceramic filters, the technology allows the treatment of all pollutants in a single unit and at a range of temperature from 260-400 deg C. It is particularly well suited to the needs of the glass industry and has already been installed at two European plants. In this article, the authors confirm the benefits of a ceramic filter design for pollution management from glass melting furnaces.
