Float Glass Chamber With Seperated Temperature Equalising Zones

The tank used in the float process is constructed so as to have a temperature equalising lining, e.g. of graphite, on the bottom of selected zones of the tank, the zones being defined along the length of a cavity formed by a refractory ceramic material. The separation of the lined zones by a bottom surface formed of the refractory material retards the conductive heat transfer between the zones.
