Flexible Melting Furnace Concept

A furnace using both electricity and fossil-fuel, with high flexibility with regard to load changes, has been developed to replace pot furnaces. The first Flex Melter, commissioned in Yugoslavia in 1988, was designed for a pull of 10.5 tons/day of potassium glass for stemware production.
