Recently on show at Glastec in Dusseldorf was the Micromelt glass furnace. First launched by Micromelt Systems Ltd in 1996, it is a compact unit which is little more than 1m3. It melts approximately 75k glass from batch, pelletised batch or cullet. Suitable for soda lime or crystal, it is designed to be used either as a standalone unit or as a supplementary unit melting clear or coloured glass.
