Flat Glass - Demand Remains Strong As Makers Introduce New Products

The flat glass sector has been on a roll, producing more glass than ever and offering more high performance glasses to the automotive and architectural industries. According to US research, world flat growth will proceed at about 4% a year to 2000, with world demand for fabricated glass rising to 2.4bn square metres. While strongest growth is expected in the Pacific Rim and South America, in North America float glass demand is predicted to rise to 676m square metres by 2000.
