Stanley Race, the ex president of the Glass Manufacturing Confederation recentley celebrated the 30th birthday of the bottle bank. Mr Race 90, made history in 1977 by being the first person to drop an empty jar into the UK's first ever bottle bank and came back to Barnsley to celebrate the anniversary 30 years on.
