In this article a new CMAS glass-ceramic matrix, which separates diopside celsian and hexacelsian, is reinforced with Al2O3 chopped fibers, SiC whiskers and particulate, and AIN particulate. The reactivity towards the formation of an interface between the reinforcement and the matrix is analysed by microstructural characterisation: XRD, SEM and Vickers microhardness testing, in order to anticipate the mechanical behaviour.
