Feldspar From Austrialia'S Monto Minerals Impresses Glassmakers

An Australian company expects to have a new, high alumina feldspar on the international market for glass container manufacturers in 2006. "Monto's feldspar has the highest alumina content available in the market, zero free silica and the capacity for very large production," says executive chairman of Monto Minerals, Peter Slaughter. Monto is an emerging producer of industrial minerals. Its principal asset is the Goonicum deposit located in a large crater about 100km south of the major industrial port city of Gladstone, central Queensland, Australia.
