Tributes have been paid to Dave Myers, a former glass worker who spent more than 40 years in the glass industry. Dave began his career working for Kerr Glass, but it was at the Calumite Company in the US where he spent most of his working life and was President between 2005-2011. Fascinated by glass from an early age he was particularly interested in raw materials and furnace operations. He also authored many papers on glass and attended every Glass Problems conference from the 1970s to last year's seminar in Columbus, Ohio. His widow, Kathleen, led the tributes to her husband, saying: "He was truly one of a kind and knew how to make everyone feel comfortable and feel good about themselves. His children Doug Myers, Suzanne and Jason Keffer, and Gretchen and Josh Ballum, and his grandchildren Jack, Emma, Logan, Dylan and Brooke will miss their loving father and grandfather."
