Chivas Brothers has relaunched its Ballantine's 12 Year Old scotch whiskey in a new 70ml glass bottle designed by Dragon, London & produced by O-I in Alloa. The new shaped container will be used internationally, with the design intended to create a unified brand identity that will replace the various packs currently used. A key feature is the new thick, flat glass base. The new bottle bears a strong similarity to the established Ballantine's Finest pack, with its rectangular shape and, the brand owner says, creates a "Ballantine's family feel." Removal of the facets which formerly characterised the 12 Year Old creates a sleeker finish, giving the brand "a more contemporary fee."
