Factors Affecting The Design And Behaviour Of Metallic Recuperators

Recuperative furnaces are advantageous for glass producers because emission levels are 50% less than those of regenerative furnaces, plus the fact that recuperators can be utilised for more than one campaign. However, if factors such as the type of glass, proportion of cullet in the batch and furnace loading are not considered in the designing stage, a substantial waste of energy and money could result.
