Fabrication And Mechanical Properties Of Ni-Nb Metallic Glass Particle-Reinforced Al-Based Metal Matrix Composite

Ni70Nb30 metallic glass powders were prepared by mechanical alloying and subsequently combined with A1 in order to form a metallic glass particle-reinforced A1-based metal matrix composite sintered below the melting temperature of Al by using the powder metallurgy method. The Young's modulus, yield strength and ultimate strength are all higher than for single-phase pure A1.
