Expansion In Bulgaria For Sisecam

Trakya Cam, a unit of Turkish glassmaker Sisecam, will invest EUR 263M in Bulgaria, aiming to capitalise on the rapid development of the Balkan region, Trakya Cam said on 27 March 2008. The new investment will include the building of a second flat glass factory in addition to automotive, coated and laminated glass plants, Trakya Cam said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The new investment is scheduled for completion by 2010, it added. The four new Bulgarian factories are expected to generate a combined annual turnover of US$ 185M on completion, Trakya Cam said in another statement. The expected turnover of its existing four factories in Bulgaria for 2008 is USD 175M, including exports of USD 150M, it added. Trakya Cam's Bulgarian plants export their output to 45 countries, mainly in Europe.
