2004 is forecasts to end with positive growth in the EU window market after a dry period of three years. With a growth in quantity of 1.2%, the window market will grow to 71.8M windows units by 2004, but only 0.9% in value terms. The total market amounts to Euros 16.3BN, according to a new study from Interconnection Consulting Group. In the years 2000 to 2003, there was a steady market decline both in terms of quantity as well as value in the Western EU window market. In 2003 an improved economic situation provided the basis for positive development in the following years. This positive trend is expected to last until 2006. Alongside the overall economic influence factors, growth of the PVC-windows as well as composite windows has been responsible for this development.
