The European lime industry is a mature one, with little change in production, consumption and technology over the past five years. Today the industry is dominated by a handful of huge multinational companies, which tower over the industry, commanding production and marketing, as they continue to grow and consolidate the EU industry. However, subtle changes in lime consumption are starting to emerge, with the environmental market at the centre of growth.
