Further to industry news about the EU study into fears over chemical contamination leaching into containers, there would appear to be two very different views between Europe and Asia with regard to the preference for glass or alternatives. In Europe, 8 out of 10 consumers surveyed believe these chemical interactions from plastic containers could be a risk to human health. The findings also reveal that EU consumers (60%) are most worried about plastic containers with regard to migrations. However, despite activity in Europe, the Indian sub-continent, one of the most rapidly growing container markets, is stressing the use of PET alternatives for packaging - in complete contrast to Europe.
