Environmental Benefits And Lower Costs Too!

Two recent float glass rebuilds were completed using Air Products' CleanfireHR oxy-fuel combustion systems. With either regenerators nor flue gas treatment, they have experienced higher fuel efficiencies and lower NO2. The CleanfireHR is designed to deliver maximum heat transfer through high luminosity, high flame coverage, optimal staging ability, and low maintenance. Maximum heat transfer acts to lower particulate emissions. This lowers the flow rates of each gas, further decreasing velocity, and producing less CO2 emissions. The staging feature of the burner yields delayed mixing control, and so less of the produced flame reaches peak flame temperature. This eliminates local hot spits above the glass surface, thus diminishing volatilization and its resulting condensate - generated particulate emissions.
