Enhanced Microwave Dielectric Properties Of Mgtio3 Ceramics Prepared By Mechanochemical Method

MgTiO3 (MTO) ceramics were prepared by the mechanochemical method. The effects of processing parameters on sintering, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties have been studied. Raman spectra of MTO ceramics were obtained and all ten raman modes were as expected theoretically. MTO ceramics exhibited higher densities with uniform microstructure at 1350 degrees C and the driving force for the sintering and increase in uniform grain size were attributed to enhanced surface energy of fine powders. The Qxf values of the MTO ceramics were in the range of 61500 to 162300 GHz. The increase in Qxf is attributed to the uniform grain growth, increase in grain size and relative density. The effects of processing parameters and initial particle size on the structure, microstructure densification and microwave dielectric properties are discussed.
