Energy Savings Predicted At Asahi Float Plant

Asahi Glass Co of Japan is building a new float plant at Surabaya, Indonesia, with measurable energy reduction and tighter control being important properties. Due for commissioning in late 1997, the plant will use an Elsag Bailey INFI 90 Open distributed control system to manage the furnace, float bath and lehr and provision for future expansion to the batch house.
