Energy Savings By Intelligent Solar Shading

On the basis of new and existing residential buildings around Europe, several studies have been carried out by Velux and CSTB to show the effect of passive cooling systems for reducing cooling demand and optimising the indoor climate by use of intelligent roof window systems. The studies were made for typical existing and low energy residential buildings at several locations in France Spain Italy and Germany. In this paper, results from the latest study are presented.
