Energy Savings In Batch Melting

This paper explains how careful preparation of raw materials overcomes the preliminary reactions that can slow melting. The paper aims to demonstrate that the use of energy in the processes prior to melting, even for repeated heating of raw materials, will pay off not only in the glass melting process, but it can also result in substantial benefits as energy savings. Only proper, correct raw material pre-reacting or other suitable treatment would save energy.
