Energy Consumption Guide - New Version Published 2005

An updated version of the Energy Consumption Guide 27 - The Glass Container Industry, updates a 1996 edition. The new publication gives details of the analysis of the results of a confidential survey of energy use in the UK glass container industry undertaken in 2003 by British Glass on behalf of the Carbon Trust. The survey involved sending a questionnaire to all 14 UK sites and visiting some factories. Detailed replies were received from 13 sites, representing 94% of the total number of container furnaces in the UK. The survey highlights a number of energy saving opportunities that could help glass container manufacturers make further energy reductions.
