End Of Life Vehicles - Fact Sheet

Warmer have produced a pull-out fact sheet on end of life vehicle glass. Since April 2002, EU member states have had to implement the requirements of the directive into national legislation. It is estimated that the number of cars in Europe will rise from 8M in 1997 to more than 12M by 2015. Across the 15 countries of the EU between 17-18M cars are sold annually. The directive states that by 2006 re-use and recovery of ELVs must be a minimum of 85% by weight, 80% through re-use and recycling. By 2015 this increases to 95% with a minimum of 85% by re-use and recycling.
