Emissions Produced Upon Processing Of Silicate Glass

Emissions produced during the batching of plate glass have been measured and quantified using high-temperature thermal analysis and mass spectrometry. This paper focuses on the infuence of the constituent Na2SO4 on the evolution of oxides of sulfur. An on-going study involves the measurement of the rate of thermal decomposition of Na2SO4 and SOx release as influenced by the partial pressure of oxygen.
