Emission Control On Glass Furnaces, Dedusting, Sox And Nox Debatement Systems

Emisison limits stipulated in Europe for glass furnaces confront glass makers with the dual task of achieving marked improvements in dust collection from glass furnace waste gases and of reducing gaseous pollutant emissions. Lurgi has been involved in the treatment of glass furnace waste gases since 1972. The first Lurgi electrostatic precipitators for dust collection from glas furnace waste gases were built in Japan from 1973 to 1980. Since then, further electrostatic precipitators for waste gas clean-up in the glass industry have gone on-stream in a great number of other countries.
