Elemental Analysis And The Discrimination Of Sheet Glass Samples

Several analytical techniques have been employed to measure the concentrations of 22 elements in 15 colourless sheet glass samples of refractive index 1.5160-1.5161. The elemental data have been examined inorder to identify the best variables to discriminate the glass samples. The concentrations of Mn, Fe, Mg, Sr, and Ba in 232 samples of sheet glass have been determined using inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. The samples were selected as representative of 10 narrow ranges of r.i. within the region 1.5150-1.5210.
