Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Studies Of Iron Group Transition Ions In Glasses Based On Zrf4

Experiments are reported on ions doped into glasses prepared under both oxidising and reducing conditions. Signals from the following were identified Ti3+, Cr3+, Mn2+, Fe3+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+. In glasses doped with copper or iron, resonance was observed only in oxidised samples while in glasses doped with titanium or nickel, resonance was observed only in reduced samples.
