Electrode Configurations In All-Electric Furnaces: Glass Melt Power Density

Glass melt power density has been studied at different arrangements of electrodes in all-electric melting furnaces. The results of mathematical modelling showed that there is a very close relationship between the distribution of power density in glass melt and the temperature field and, therefore, the intensity of convective currents of the glass melt can be influenced by suitably arranging the electrodes.
