Electrochemical Online-Sensors In Industrial Glass Melting Tanks

Industrial glassmakers face challenges that require permanent improvement of the reliability of the glass melting process, as customer demands for quality become permanently higher. Most finishing techniques, especially for coating applications, require absolute reproducibility of the base glass properties. Yet, the great demand for product variety causes process instability due to frequent changes of load and glass composition. Changing environmental boundaries creates further restraints. Waste recycling of cullet has increased by more than 90% in green container glass production due to increasing amounts of packaging, However, organic contamination and the varied composition make this raw material extremely difficult to handle.
