A team at Queensland University of Technology and Rice University has developed a high-capacity film thin enough to place in panels, roofs, doors and floors of automobiles. The super strong electrolyte-electrode sandwich also can provide enough power to recharge an electric vehicle battery in minutes. According to a press release, the work, published in the Journal of Power Sources and Nano Technology, means that supercapacitor-powered cars could become a roadway reality before 2020.
