Egypt - Positive Growth For Egyptian Container Sector

Egypt's glass industry has changed considerably over the last few years, its production profile having altered from being supply-led to demand-led. Just a few years ago, domestic food and beverage producers struggled to obtain regular supplies of glass packaging from Egypt's four glassmakers. If the batch size required was small, this demand was met via imports from neighbouring countries. However, the situation began to change in the middle of the last decade and over a period of three years, new producers and an expansion by existing manufacturers bridge the demand-supply mismatch. This article presents an overview of the Egyptian glass container industry.
