The Effect Of The Replacement Of Zr4+ By Al3+ On Ionic Motions In Zrf4 Based Glasses

Complex permittivity and conductivity of three compositions of fluoride glasses have been measured from 300K to near their respective softening points. The addition of AlF3 to a zirconium fluoride based glass decreases electrical conductivity and lowers the rate of modulus reaction but the half width of the modulus spectrum remains constant with changes in both composition and temperature.
