The Effect Of Refractive Index Modifiers On The Thermal Expansion Coefficient Of Fluoride Glasses

Thermal expansion coefficients have been measured from room temperature to 250 degrees C for a number of fluoride glasses. The change of expansion coefficient with composition was studied systematically and expansion mismatch stresses in fibres and preforms for some common core-cladding structures were calculated.
