Effect Of Glass Basicity On The Ultraviolet Spectra Of Thallium (I) And Thallium (Iii)

An optical basicity treatment of alkali borate glasses allows prediction of the ultraviolet absorption band frequency trends for Tl+ and Tl3+ and, for high alkali glasses, shows that the lowest energy band frequency is for Tl3+.
